Looking for a fab craft to do with the kiddies on a cloudy day this summer!

image

Then head to Michael’s, Walmart or Target!

Every summer I love doing fun crafts with the kids that they appreciate & enjoy making!

When children make/create something they are so proud of their accomplishments!

If you have a child who favors a particular article of clothing, by making one themselves you could get them to wear something else!

Also after a day outside in the heat, at the beach/pool, finding crafts are a great way to wind down and chill out!

“Momwhoknows Puffy Paint Clothing”

Materials:

*Tank tops, t-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, jeans, socks, white Keds or Vans sneakers

*Newspaper

*1-2 3D-Puffy Paint Set

Directions:

1.) Cover the entire table with newspaper or a plastic throwaway tablecloth.

2.) Stuff each clothing item with newspaper to prevent the paint bleeding through.

3.) Have each child design their items and lay flat to dry for 2 days.

Crafts such as these are fun for children as early as age 2-adult!

Enjoy!

Want to make a memorable pizza al fresco?

image

Then gather the following items below and head outside!

Every summer we love making memories with our children and pizza on the BBQ is a must! A family friend has inspired us to take pizza making to a different level!

As I have said many times, cooking with your children is a great way for them to try new things.

Ingredients:
*4 cups of homemade tomato sauce
*2 large fresh mozzarella sliced paper thin
*1 bunch of Organic basil leaves torn
*1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
*1 cup of Extra Virgin olive oil
*2 large pizza dough rounds (Either purchase from a local pizzaria or make the dough homemade)

Utensils/items needed:
*Large wooden or plastic cutting board
*1 wooden rolling pin
*Spatula
*Pizza cutter
*5 small bowls for ingredients
*5 spoons
*Silicon basting brush
*2 Cookie sheets
*Optional add your favorite toppings

Directions:
1.) Preheat the BBQ to 500* degrees on a medium flame preferably.
2.) Place all ingredients along with a spoon in each bowl.
3.) On a cutting board lightly flour the surface and rolling pin.
4.) Next cut each dough round in half and set aside.
5.) Take 1 out of 4 rounds and roll in a thin rectangular shape, brush with olive oil, then place oil side down on the grill and cook until slightly brown 3-5 min.
6.) Brush the top with Olive oil and flip to cook the opposite side. Quickly add 1 cup of sauce, basil, fresh mozzarella and any other toppings, then cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
7.) Sprinkle with fresh Parmesan cheese, slice with pizza cutter into slices.
8.) Continue the above directions for the remaining 3 dough rounds and enjoy!

Want a fun activity for the kids this summer?

image

Then head to the beach!

Every summer our children collect countless buckets of shells which they love to paint, both at the beach and at home.

In our beach bag I always have the following in a large Ziplock bag…

*Melissa & Doug beach bucket
*Crayola paint
*Crayola paintbrushes
*Crayola glitter glue pens
*Newspaper
*Paper cups
*Paper napkins or folded paper towels
*Baby wipes (to clean hands or surfaces)
*Sharpie marker

Whether at the beach or at home I have the kids lay a few newspaper sheets for each child, then fill cups with water. Afterwards I write each child’s name on the backs of all of their shells to prevent any issues.

Crayola makes amazing sets of paint, glitter glue pens, as well as a variety pack of paint brushes which are perfect for a number of children to share.

I usually model for the kids creating my own shell, and dip my paintbrush in a cup of water in between colors, then dabbing it in a paper towel.

Activities that are hands on and promote creativity are the most memorable ones for children I feel.

Enjoy your paint fest, and turn a simple shell into a masterpiece with your kids!

Take it from a Mom Who cant wait to stroll with the kiddies for more shells this week, and have a shell exhibit for our family!

Do your kids love bubbles?

image

Then making bubble wands is a must this summer!

This craft is perfect to make at the beach, and one kids of all ages would love to do!

The materials you will need are as follows:

*1 package of colored pipe cleaners
*plastic plates
*bubbles
*Sharpie marker

Directions:
1.) Write each child’s name on the plastic plates with a marker.

2.) Have each child pick out 2 pipe cleaners.

3.) Next have the children choose which shape they would like (circle, triangle, heart, star, square, oval, etc.), and bend into the desired shape.

4.) Afterwards, take the second pipe cleaner and bend it in half to make a wand. Then twist the wand around the base of the shape.

5.) Pour the bubbles into each plate and let the kids blow away!

Kids can use 4 pipe cleaners to make multi colors as well, and just twist two colors and follow the steps above.

We made these last weekend at the beach with children ages 3-10, and it was a hit!

Want a fun show for your kids to perform this summer?

image

Then put on a talent show!

As a child my friends and I would put on shows in our backyard which were some of the fondest memories of summertime.

We were the original masterminds of, “America’s Got Talent”, lol! Who knew…

From singing to dancing, magic acts, comedians, hula hoops and more, your children and friends can have a blast!

Promoting creativity is a passion of mine as a parent in the world of electronics. Providing your children with fun activities where they can create is a life long lesson they will treasure!

Some fun ideas are for the kids to make posters, tickets, decorations, and programs for the show.

Items like a note book for planning the theme of the show, Ipad or CD player for music, Kids Bop CD’s, poster boards, tape, scissors, construction paper, markers & crayons for decorations.

Last weekend our children, my niece and nephew brought tears to our eyes with a dance show they performed for us.

It proved that creativity is alive unprovoked, and still apart of our family!

Take it from a Mom Who loves sharing fun things with you! Enjoy your show this summer!

Want a fun way to kick off summer?

image

Then pick up a poster, markers, a Sharpie and make a, “Summer Wish List”!

For the past three years our family has composed a list of wishes that we hope to fulfill by the end of the summer.

It is a great way to try different things, experience things as a family, as well as make memories for your children.

Either have the kids write the poster, or take turns writing your own wishes, and draw pictures along side each wish with a check off box.

Happy wishing!
