Fun snack mix for kids & adults too!

I have recently stumbled upon making a healthy and delicious snack for all…Snack Mix.  Whether it be in the car, to the park, or after school,  these are different and fun snacks.  If your child doesn not like 1 ingredient, omit it or add one of your own.

Obviously if your child has a nut allergy omit the peanuts or nuts.

PB&J Mix: 1 package of unsalted peanuts, or Envirokidz Organic Peanut Butter Panda Puff cereal, and 1 box of raisins

Monkey Mix: 1 bag of banana chips, 1 box of raisins, 1 package of unsalted peanuts, 1 cup of dark chocolate chips (optional) or chocolate Cheerios or chocolate cereal puffs

Under The Sea Mix:  1 package of cheese Goldfish, 1 package of pretzel Goldfish, and 1 package of plain Goldfish

Berry Mix: 1 package of dried cherries, 1 package of Cranraisins, 1 package of dried strawberries, 1 package of dried blueberries and 2 cups of berry Kix cereal

Cereal Mix: 2 cups of any Chex cereal, 2 cups Cheerios, 2 cups Berry Kix OR mix any three if your childs favorite cereals

Tropical Jungle Mix: 1 package if dried mangos, 1 package of dried papaya, 1 package od dried pineapple, and 1 cup of shredded unsweetened coconut (optional)

Party Mix: 1 container of Yogurt raisins, & 1 bag of small pretzels

French Toast Mix: 2 cups of any Cinnamon cereal(Cascadian Farm Organic Kids Cinnamon Crunch), & 2 Cups of Cheerios

Baby Yoagart Mix:  2 cups of Cheerios, and 1 package of any Yogurt melts



Do you and your kids need an afternoon pick me up?

It’s 3:00pm and you are about to need a nap right?  I usually have an afternoon latte myself, but started to make smoothies with my kids, and found that it gave me a longer boost of energy!

My ratio is 1 cup of any Greek yogurt (it gives it a shake-like consistency), 1 cup of frozen or fresh fruit of your choice, 1 cup of low-fat or skim milk, 2 tablespoons of  wheat germ (folic acid), and voila, a great snack for all!

*For a thicker consistency, add more yogurt by eye and give the kids a spoon and they think its ice cream!

*For a thinner consistency add more milk to thin it out.

*Great tip my mother in law gave me, is that if your bananas are ripe, peel them and wrap them in plastic wrap, then put them in a large ziplock and freeze!

*Also BJ’s Costco and all supermarkets sell large bags of frozen fruit, which is a great way for parents on the go to make a QUICK snack!


PB and J smoothie: Follow the above ratio, but use strawberries and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter.

Winter Blues smoothie: Follow the above ratio but use blueberries.

Summer smoothie: Use pineapple Greek yogart and add a banana or mango for the fruit ratio.

Fruit smoothie: Use 2 cups of fruit, and 1 cup of OJ, apple, grape or pineapple juice depending what you like.
