Want a fun Valentine’s Day gift to make with the kiddies?

Then gather all your broken crayons!

There is nothing more exciting for children then to make a gift for someone.

This activity is so easy that a 2 year old could help!

Heart Crayons
*12 silicone hearts
*Broken crayons
*Parchment paper
*Cookie sheet
*Scented candle

1.) Preheat your oven to 375*, & line the cookie sheet with parchment paper.

2.) Have the children help peel all of the wrappers (discard then) from the crayons and set the crayons aside in a bowl.

* I light a scented candle in the kitchen to cover the strong scent when the crayons are cooking, & when they are removed from the oven.

3.) Next have the kids help break the crayons into small pieces and fill each heart liner halfway.

4.) Place each heart onto the parchment paper lined cookie sheet & bake in the center of the oven for 10 minutes.

5.) Afterwards let cool completely for 30 minutes, then pop out each heart crayon.

(Note, this activity can be done with any silicone muffin shape & makes great gifts!)

Want to make keepsake ornaments with the kiddies this holiday season?

Then head to Michael’s or your local craft store for plastic Christmas balls, & a Sharpie paint marker!

Nothing is more memorable each year to go down memory lane when decorating our tree.

This year we made family Christmas ornaments with the kids, dated & signed our names with our ages & the year.

We filled ours with festive feathers, but they can be filled with bells, glitter, Legos, beads, stars & the list is endless!

This craft is fun for parties, holiday gatherings, and one in which your family will treasure!

Looking for a fab Christmas tree this holiday?

Then cut one down a tree yourself or purchase a potted tree!

Today we took our children to a Christmas tree farm which was a wonderful way to kick off the holiday spirit!

From planning on what type of tree to working together as a team, it was a day to treasure!

Fresh cut trees last longer then precut trees, and are less expensive then some lot trees.

Another option is to purchase a potted tree which you could plant in your yard or local park.

Making memories is priceless, and just a few MomWhoKnows.Com tips… Bring a battery operated saw! Hand saws are more work and save your arms for decorating! Also a blanket for your roof, & a plastic bag to wrap the base to prevent sap sticking to your car!

Want to do something memorable this Thanksgiving with all of your family or guests?

Then make a, Thankful Tree or Thankful Chandelier!

Thanksgiving is a memorable holiday, one of which has many, “teachable” moments for your children.

We all have many things to be thankful for, and what better way to show it!

Simply cut out a variety different shape leaves, and use a hole puncher or pencil to poke a small hole in each leaf.

Next use a pipe cleaner, ribbon, raffia or twine and tie a knot in the hole for it to hang.

Afterwards give everyone one or more leaves and a marker to write what he/she is thankful for. For the little ones, have them dictate their thoughts.

Next hang on a chandelier or take a few branches from outside for your family/guests to attached their leaves, & place in a vase.

What better way to share a special moment of greatness!

Take it from a Mom who is truly THANKFUL for all of my blessings!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Want a fun & memorable activity to keep the kids busy after dinner on Thanksgiving?

Then pick up a pre-made Gingerbread house, by Wilton, or a do-it-yourself Chanukah house by Manishewitz!

My sister in law each year sets up a fabulous table for the kids after dinner which they look forward to every year!

Decorating Gingerbread houses has become a tradition for the kids on Thanksgiving, and kicks off the holiday spirit!

Pre-made houses are easiest, found at local supermarkets, Target or Michael’s Craft Stores. Set up an area with a disposable table cloth, bowls of a variety of candies, icing, clear large basket bags (Michael’s Craft Store), ribbons to tie bags and a tag with every child’s name on it.

If you cant find a pre-made house, then assemble the houses the night before so they have enough time to dry, & won’t fall apart!

Keep the houses on display in your home and unwrap of Chanukah or Christmas for dessert! Enjoy!

Want to help children with food allergies this Halloween?

Then head to and print out a flyer of a teal pumpkin, or paint your pumpkin teal green!

Food allergies are very serious, and many children in the US have them. 1 in every 13 children have at least one or more food allergies which is alarming!

This Halloween please join me and many others and have non food items for trick or treaters.

Items like stickers, pencils, plastic trinkets, are perfect items for kids!

Target, Michaels, Party City, & the Dollar Tree stores have a fabulous array to choose from if you are stumped.

Looking for a great experience at American Girl?

Then make a reservation with a Personal Shopper at the nearest American Girl Place store near you!

I am always looking for special experiences with our children, and this year takes the cake for our daughter!

Last month I booked both a reservation with a personal shopper and lunch for her birthday.

Many people don’t realize, but American Girl has an AMAZING service which is FREE, that includes complimentary coat check, gift wrapping, and the most knowledgable specialists ever!

As soon as you are greeted, your child is taken to which section they are interested in, and given information about the doll of their choice.

Afterwards he or she is taken back to the personal shopping room to go through their choices of wishes or purchases.

If you don’t see an item you are looking for, your personal shopper can look for it while you hang out in the lounge.

My favorite aspect of this experience was that they were NOT pushy and asked on us on the side what we were looking to do prior to shopping. ~LOVE this!

After your selection, head to the Hair Salon where your doll can get their hair styled like your child, or have their ears pierced within 15 minutes!

Lunch, tea or dinner is also a special treat at American Girl! When the doors open to the dining room, your hostess will offer your child a high chair for their doll. Don’t have a doll? Well American Girl has got you covered with a doll to borrow! ~Too cute!

From dolls to interactive stations, accessories, matching apparel, DVD’s, music and books, this store is a must!

Check out their website, prior to your visit, and enjoy my fab tips!
