Want to know if you could survive a fire?

Then check out Mom Who Knows on the Dr. Oz Show!

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to be a guest on the show, & experience a life lesson on fire safety.

A group of us were brought into a room and questioned if we were able to handle a fire extinguisher.

Afterwards a fire was ignited and we were put to the test, & it was a lesson I will never forget!

I do know how to use a fire extinguisher, yet was too far away from the fire, as well as should have started from the bottom to the top.

Instinct kicked in (when I thought what if my children were in the next room) and what the video didn’t show, was me being able to put the fire out.

Do you know how to operate a fire extinguisher? Do you know what to do if there is a fire? Do you and your family have a fire safety plan?

If you answered no to any of these questions then it is imperative that you do, for you could save a life!

Thank you Dr. Oz & Staff, as well as journalist Elisabeth Leamy for a learning experience I will keep with me forever!

Want to know what I learned from The Dr. Oz Show today about fire safety?

Then tune in November for Mom Who Knows, & others for a fire safety episode!

Today I was put to the test to see if I knew what to do in case of a fire.

Do you know what to do if there were a fire in your home?

Do you know how to operate a fire extinguisher?

Does your family have a fire evacuation plan?

What would you do if your clothing caught on fire?

These questions will be answered next month on the Dr. Oz Show, which I will keep you posted of the air date.

Want to save a life?

Then take the pledge with me at, www.itcanwait.com for it can save lives!

Yesterday on the news, I listened to a mother’s anguish of losing her eight month old baby to someone texting, & crashing into her stroller!

It bothered me all day, & her words made me reflect & decide to take the pledge of not texting while driving.

Whether it be at a traffic light, or stop sign, it is the law, that no one driving a motor vehicle is allowed to operate a handheld device!

If something is so important, pull over to text, or read, because it can take just that, to get into an accident!

Want your children to be swimming by summer?

Then get them into swimming lessons this winter!

I am a big believer in fall & winter swimming lessons, so that by summer your children have an idea of what to expect.

Also this gives them time to learn safety skills, & how to swim before the season arrives.

There are so many places that offer swimming lessons in the area in which you live, just Google, or ask around.

We will be vacationing this spring, so our five year old daughter will be taking lessons to refresh her skills before our trip.

She was confidently swimming by August, but it can’t hurt to brush up on those techniques right?

Happy swimming!

Want to know the real deal about car & booster seat safety guidelines ?

Then go to, www.car-safety.org, or www.carseat.org!

There isn’t a day that goes by that I see children in the wrong carseat, or without a booster seat.

Each state has its own laws regarding car seat safety.

My son (who is almost nine) is still in a booster seat, because he doesn’t make the weight requirement.

It is imperative that you check to make sure your child is in the appropriate seat.

It just takes one accident, so why not take a few minutes to be sure?

I am, & so should you… 😉

Help spread the word with me, for one accident can change your life completely.
