Great indoor activity to keep kids busy this summer!

While shopping in Rite Aid, I discovered this company called, “Out of a Box Creations”, which make a cardboard replica of a castle, pirate ship, doll house, and a carriage.  They range in price on sale in the store only for $19.99, or online up to $34.99 (If u purchase 2 online, you can save $5).

It is a great indoor or rainy day project, which will certainly keep the kids busy!  It comes with a few markers, and it makes a great gift as well!

Go to the store or purchase online at www.riteaidonlinestore.com and go to the toy section.

LOVE THIS!  It promotes creativity, roleplaying, and letting your kids have fun!

A few ideas…

I would take this to a BBQ for it would keep the kids busy in the backyard, give it as a gift, a rainy/sick day activity, put out for a large playdate.

(I have seen these in toyshops for over $60, so this is the best price for this type of product I think.)

Enjoy!

Great day trip for kids!

Local Farmers Markets are a great way for children to learn about produce, sample some tasty treats, and use all of the their senses!  Some are open during the week, but most are on the weekends.

I love supporting local & Organic farmers, and I feel their items last a bit longer and just taste so darn good! Lol!

There is a great website www.ams.usda.gov/farmersmarkets for a nationwide directory to choose from.

In Hoboken, New Jersey they usually have two locations, and there is so much to see there as well!

A fun activity I used to do with my class, is for the children to draw about all of the things that they have never seen before, and compare/contrast each stand.  Also if your child is learning about currency, it is a great way for them to practice!

Have fun this summer with water balloons, great product invented by a child!

I was in a toy shop, where my son ran to this balloon pump and immediately took out his allowance and said, “Mommy this is what I would like to buy!”, so I know it would be a hit!

It is called, “Pumponator”, and is an air pump that can fill small balloons, or fill the bottle with water to make water balloons.  It comes with 500 Biodegradable water balloons, and comes in cool colors like camouflage, red, pink, purple, and sells for $19.95.

What I like is that children can do this themselves, which is important, and makes them feel good too!

Go go www.pumponator.com to order direct, & they also sell a refill pack of balloons for $5.99, as well as party balloons for $9.99.

Makes a great gift, and will be a lot of fun this summer, for it is portable for the beach & park too!  It is great for adults too, lol! Who doesn’t like a water balloon fight right? Lol!

Instead of towels for the kids at the pool or beach try BATHROBES!

Three years ago I gave up on carrying my sons towel on our walk home from the pool and had an idea… BATHROBE!  It has been so much easier, and my daughter loves her as well!  It is less to carry, keeps the kids warm, and is NOT a battle!

There are so many places that sell adorable robes, but I find that terry cloth fabric is most absorbent, and dries quickly.

I bought my children theirs at Costco, as well as a Restoration Hardware Baby online, &  found a few great sites that carry them as well!

Go to 1.) www.cottonage.com for Unisex terry bathrobes $16.99,  2.) www.onestepahead has Sun Smarties Kids Terry Cover-Up for $11.95, 3.)www.inhabitots.com adorable poncho Organic terry Cover Ups for $40.00, 4.) www.landofnod.com for infant Kimono robes $24.00, 5.) www.whatshebuys.com for Barefoot Dreams Cozy Chic Robes for $61.00.

My favorite is from Restoration Hardware Baby! Go to www.rhbabyandchild.com to view their Cuddle Plush bath wraps, that can be monogrammed, from $13.99-$44.00.  It makes a great gift too!

Enjoy, and stay cool!

Move over Smores, try a pie on a stick!

A year ago I saw this recipe for a pie on a stick and kids love it!

You will need 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 tsp of ground cinnamon (mix together in a bowl), 1 firm apple, & 1 sharpened stick.

Slowly rotate the apple (either in a BBQ or campfire close) to the fire turning slowly until the skins begin to split, and are blackened.

Next, an adult should peel the skins off have the kids roll their apple into the sugar cinnamon mixture, and enjoy!

This is another way for kids to eat fruit… for it’s fun and most of all delicious!

Enjoy!

Now that summer is almost here a great product to prevent headlice!

With outdoor/indoor interactions with many children, head lice is also a part of summer!  As a preventative measure I use, “Fairy Tales” Shampoo, Conditioner and Repellant Spray on my children daily to prevent head lice.

A friend of mine’s child got head lice from a prestigious school, and almost had a nervous breakdown!  It can be from anywhere the movie theatre, school, someone’s home, summer camp, and anywhere that has fabric chairs or couches, etc.  (The telltale signs are continuous head scratching or itchy scalp.)

Fairy tales products are also sold at Whole Foods, Babies R’ Us, Target, some drug stores, & beauty supply stores. I like them because they are all natural, safe and is organic as well! 🙂

Go to www.fairytaleshaircare.com to order, for peace of mind is worth any dollar amount right?  Their website has a lot of information on the subject area, so check it out!

Amazing Picnic foldable table for kids!

I have been searching for a white, plastic, picnic table for my deck and my mother in law scored a GREAT one!  It is called, “Kidnic Table”, she purchased it at COSTCO for $68.  I Goggled it, and saw that Walmart sells it for $49, but you have to pick it up at the store.

What I love is that it is lightweight, sturdy (go to www.kidnictable.com to watch the demo, for a man stands on the bench, so you could say it’s quite durable, lol), and it could be taken to the beach, a picnic, sports event, and be used for many other things!

Head out to get it, for I predict it will be a, “HOT” item this summer!

Enjoy!
